A rare Victorian ring carved from bog oak, a naturally black fossilized wood typically sourced from Irish peat bogs in the 19th century. It was prized for use in mourning jewelry, during a period in which it was considered inappropriate to wear silver or gold after the death of a family member.
Currently a size 5-3/4 and not possible to resize. Note that this is a fairly fragile ring and should be worn carefully and not in water.
