A lovely glass scarab brooch in cast iridescent uranium glass. Uranium glass (aka vaseline glass) is a material more common to decorative glassware than jewelry, that fluoresces a strange neon green in daylight-- owing to trace amounts of uranium in the glass. It is generally negligibly radioactive and considered harmless. The scarab is a similar form to those made by Tiffany studios in the early 20th century. It's on a later 10K gold brooch mounting.
