A Georgian-era paste ring with rare to find "opaline paste" which was meant to simulate opals, but in glass crystal. A lovely color palate of green and opal, and impressive in scale. As found, and all c1820 components, but possibly adapted from other jewelry into a ring. Note that because the stones are in closed, foil-backed settings, the ring should not be worn in water.

Materials

Paste (Glass Crystal), Silver, 14K Gold

Date

Early 19th Century.

Condition

Fair. As found and all antique components, but has numerous old repairs, and the shank appears to have been recently attached with laser soldering.

Size

US Size 8-1/2 (could be resized in the 6 to 9 range for $75)
North to South: 26mm
