Part of our EB Modern collection which uses rare vintage diamonds in mountings of our design. This ring has a very rare c1940 diamond with natural grey coloring. It's set in mounting based on a Medieval stirrup ring. Called stirrup rings for their resemblance to horse stirrups, the style originated in the 12th century. Ours is updated with a slender shank and a more streamlined profile. Built in 18K yellow gold.
Unlike the cloudy "grey" diamonds more commonly used in contemporary jewelry, which are grey due to imperfections, true grey diamonds are incredibly rare. This stone weighs 0.90 carats and has an even silver-grey tone while maintaining brilliance. It comes with a GIA certificate stating Very Light Gray color and SI1 clarity.
Made in New York.
