c1900 Diamond Heart Locket

An exceptional antique heart locket with a large silvery old mine cut diamond set at the center of a blood-red heart. Enameled front and back and built in 14k yellow gold. Inscribed several times inside with the first date from 1903 reading "M.M.W. Feb. 22 '03." Later inscriptions on the other side read "C.L.R.W April 5th, 1911" and "A.W. Sept. 2nd 1914." Each inscription probably commemorated an important event-- perhaps a wedding and the birth of two children.
