An antique c1890 signet ring with a heraldic coat of arms carved into blue chalcedony and set in 18K yellow gold. The shield has the image of an axe in the upper field and a fox in the lower, and is surmounted with a cross-topped coronet. The ring is likely French, but lacks hallmarks and the family associated with the imagery hasn't been identified. The shank appears to have been modified in a rather unusual asymmetrical design-- perhaps done to change the size. Weighs 6.1 grams.

Currently a size 8-1/2 and could be resized in the 7 to 9 range for $95.
