An unusual 1960s engagement ring and wedding band set made by the Chicago jeweler Carteaux. The engagement ring's center stone is an exceptionally rare antique rhombic (or diamond-shaped) diamond that probably dates to the 19th century. The side diamonds also appear to be 19th century cuts, suggesting the ring was custom made using customer-supplied stones. The wedding band cleverly interlocks with the engagement ring. The engagement ring has an inscription that reads "L.J.S. Love A.B.C. 9-64." An EGL USA certificate for the center diamond is included stating F-G color and SI1 clarity.
