A beautifully made antique Russian ring with a pink ruby and a pair of old mine cut diamonds set in a modified gypsy setting with compass point prongs hold each stone. The ruby is lab-grown, which is common to jewelry from the early 20th century, when natural rubies were popular but extraordinarily expensive, and synthetics were a recent innovation. A stippled texture covers the front face of the ring. In 14K rosy-toned gold. Probably a men's ring originally but sizable and suitable for anyone. Russian hallmarks date the ring to c1915.
Currently a size 8-1/4 and could be resized in the 6 to 9.5 range for $75.
