An antique English ring with alternating old mine cut diamonds and demantoid garnets set in 18K yellow gold. Demantoid garnets are one of the world's rarest gems, and are prized for their lime color and almost diamond-like brilliance. They were discovered in the 19th century in Russia and were used in the highest end jewelry through the early 20th century when supplies dwindled. Note that this ring should be worn carefully: demantoid garnets are relatively soft gems. English hallmarks date the ring to 1910.

Currently a size 6-3/4 and could be resized in the 5.5 to 8 range for $75.
