1900s French Diamond & Sapphire Ring

An antique French Art Nouveau ring with a strikingly modern asymmetrical arrangement of sapphires, old mine cut and rose cut diamonds and a pearl in 18K gold. The sapphires are presumably lab-grown, as is frequently the case with French jewelry of this era, during which the first synthetic sapphires had been produced by a French chemist. French hallmarks on the outside back of the shank. Dates to c1905. Currently a size 5-1/2 but could be resized in the 4.5 to 7 range for $75. Note that due to the style of construction and the use of pearl, this ring would not be well suited to everyday wear.
