A beautifully made and well preserved antique c1880 engagement ring with an old mine cut diamond weighing approximately 0.15 carats set in rosy-toned 14K yellow gold. The diamond has a subtle silvery sparkle and an unusual spherical crystal inclusion centered under the table. Its placement is in line with the open-culet behind it-- the work of a clever diamond cutter some 130 years ago. Currently a size 7-1/2 and could be resized in the 5 to 8.5 range for $75.
