An exceptional c1880 Victorian-era bracelet depicting a dragon.Victorians designers were great appropriators, and this bracelet is an excellent example: a dragon copied from Eastern art, and intricate granulation and wirework copied from ancient Etruscan jewelry. In the 19th century, archaeological discoveries inspired a revival of both Etruscan designs, and goldsmithing techniques. In 14K gold with a bloomed finish, giving the appearance of higher karat gold. With a 0.45ct old mine cut diamond set in the mouth.
