A small c1840 Victorian seal fob, ornately detailed with black and blue enamel on textured 18K yellow gold. Small fobs like these were sometimes parts of matched sets and worn from watch chains. The bloodstone insert at the bottom would ordinarily be carved with initials or a heraldic seal, which could be used to make an impression in wax, but this one was never carved. It hangs from a newer 18K yellow gold chain measuring 17 inches in length. Note that there are enamel losses on one side of the fob.
