An antique Victorian-era necklace with a very unusual double-link design, each link with crisp reeded texture. Hollow, but sturdy 18K links with heavy patina. Two clasps and evidence of solder at the center of the chain, suggesting that the necklace was created from a pair of matching bracelets many years ago. Weighs 24.5 grams.

Condition

Good. Heavily patinated with dark oxidation. Could be cleaned if desired. Probably assembled from a matching pair of bracelets, which in the 19th century, were often designed to be convertible to a necklace, but have been permanently converted by soldering end links together. Lead solder present. A few small dings.
