An incredible Art Deco engagement ring from the New York jeweler Gillot & Co. Paul Gillot was a French jeweler who immigrated to New York to work for Marcus & Co in 1901. He opened his own shop on Fifth Avenue in 1916. This ring undoubtedly came out of that shop. The diamond is a beautifully faceted transitional cut weighing 2.15 carats. A GIA certificate for the stone describes it as J color and VS2 clarity. It faces up as very white. Signed "GIllot & Co." Comes in a period ring box.
