An incredible pair of Georgian-era French "poissarde" earrings with richly colored topaz paste set in a 18K. Poissarde is French for "fish wife" or "fish seller." Supposedly women who worked in late 18th century Parisian fish markets were the first to wear earrings of this style. This pair has unusually fine metal work with their filigree edge and repousse detailing.
