An unusual example Victorian Revival jewelry from the 1950s, when renewed interest in 19th century jewelry influenced jewelry designers. At first glance it easily reads as a Victorian starburst ring, but a little closer inspection reveals a cluster of marquise diamond, which are typical of the 1950s, and an oversized scale that has more in common with mid-century cocktail rings. A blue sapphire center weighing approximately 0.40 carats is surrounded by approximately 0.72 carats of round and marquise diamond set in white gold. The outer surround and shoulders are decorated with blue enamel. Extremely well made and in very good condition.
