A very rare Persian turquoise cabochon carved with the image of a horse or camel, set in high karat gold. The stone is likely early Islamic, Seljuk, or Turkic-Persian nomadic in origin, and dating to 10th to 12th century CE. The mounting is likely later, perhaps dating to the 14-15th century. Weighs 2.2 grams.
Because of the age and delicate construction this ring is not well suited to regular wear.
