A beautifully preserved and exceptionally well made Georgian-era mourning pin with a lock of hair braided under crystal and surrounded by rows of tiny natural seed pearls. Pins of this style were used to secure fabric or lace draped over shoulders. While not always used for remembrance, this one was. An inscription on the back reads "SW Ob 25 Nov 1810 Ae 30," meaning the brooch was made to remember someone with the initials S.W who died on November 25th, 1810 at age 30. Built in 9K gold and likely English.
