An antique Egyptian Revival micromosaic ring with the image of a scarab in tiny inlaid glass fragments. Micromosaic tokens were popular souvenirs of Rome in the 19th century, but most were fitted into jewelry back in England and France. This ring however has Vatican hallmarks indicating it was made completely in Rome. It's extremely rare to find intact micromosaic rings from Rome. Built in 18K gold and dating to c1880.

Currently a size 6-1/2 and best not resized due to the Vatican marks on the outside of the shank.
