A very rare early Carl Schon ring with lapis mounted in between a pair of gold winged women. Built in gold and silver apparently repurposing an antique Chinese silver band.
Carl Schon was a Baltimore jeweler active in the 1890-20s, known for his creative figural designs. After he died in 1923 his name and firm were bought from the estate, and his designs continued to be produced through the 1970s. This ring however has the early mark indicating it was made before his death, likely by Schon himself.
Currently a size 8 with an adjustable shank that could be adjusted in the 6.5 to 9 range for $50.
