A lovely Georgian-era ring with a golden topaz collet-set in gold with a silver foil backing-- as was typical for c1800 rings. The ring is as found, but the shank is likely a replacement, although it itself appears to be antique as well. Rare to find natural topaz Georgian rings. In the 18th century, topaz was one of the most desirable and expensive gemstones. In 15K gold. Because of the foil-backing, and age of the ring, it would not be well-suited to everyday wear. Likely English.
